The Tees River Trust received £179,000 from the Government in January 2021 to support nature-based projects and creating jobs.
The Tees River Trust is one of 68 projects across the country receiving funding, which will help support the Trust’s long-term biological Control of Invasive Non Native Species. Sadly, Himalayan Balsam and Japanese Knotweed need managing and this funding will allow the trust to hire a new project officer and to create ten control sites throughout the Tees catchment to assist in the long-term creation of self-sustaining biological control agents.
