Last week I joined a group of Conservative Candidates from around the country on a five day trip to Israel organised by Conservative Friends of Israel.
We visited sites of both war and worship, we met with politicians, journalists, businesses their owners and their employees. We talked to Arabs and Jews, Israelis and Palestinians, Christians and Muslims.
For me the most moving part of the trip was the visit to the holocaust museum and seeing the personal stories of murder and destruction. Anti Semitism is simply racism against Jewish people and like all racism has no place in our society, we must never become complacent in rooting out this evil wherever it arises.
Everyone we met wants peace. I pray that the peace we enjoy in our lives living side by side can one day be theirs too.
