Following a successful bid by the Office of the Durham Police, Crime and Victims’ Commissioner the Home Office has granted funds to help reduce burglaries and protect the communities in Darlington.
In total Durham will receive £800,000 from the £25 million Home Office fund with Darlington’s Northgate and North Road areas set to benefit directly from £298,000 of funding.
This money will help victims of residential burglary receive a number of security measures such as window locks, internal lights on a timer, double locks, and external lights. The crime prevention team will also provide tailored crime prevention advice, with the aim of making victims feel safer.
