The Adventures of Henry Pease – The Story starts with You
You may have seen my furry colleague helping me out, in and around Darlington, Henry Pease.
Henry is a delightful little teddy that I use to engage with the younger audiences in the constituency and I would very much like the help of local children to bring Henry’s story to life. You can find out more about Henry Pease by visiting: https://www.petergibson.org/henry-pease or follow Henry on Instagram @henrypease2020.
As part of World Book Day, I am launching a short story writing competition for all Primary and Junior School aged children to write a story about the adventures of Henry in Darlington. There is no limit to what type of story it could be and the more creative the better!
I am working with local businesses with a view to get this book printed and I will then look at selling the book locally, with all proceeds going to autism related charities in Darlington.
To enter the competition the writers must be Primary or Junior School age. All entries should be submitted typed on A4 paper and be no longer than 500 words with the following details clearly stated:
- Name of pupil
- Age
- Year Group
- Name of School
- Title of Story
If your know a young writer who would like to enter the competition, please send their entries to my constituency office at Office of Peter Gibson MP, 34 Duke Street, Darlington, DL3 7AQ or alternatively by email via peter.gibson.mp@parliament.uk by Wednesday 30th June.
The winners will be announced on my website over the summer and will feature as a collection in the story book, which I plan to launch at the start of the next academic year.
Good luck and I look forward to receiving your entries!
