Playground Build by Darlington Volunteers Handed Over to Youngsters

A new playground has been handed over to pupils from Corporation Road Community Primary School in Darlington today.

An innovative project, spearheaded by local MP Peter Gibson, has seen the installation of a train and castle themed wooden playground at the school in the town.

Pay Rise for 103,000 Workers Across North East

Around two million of the UK’s lowest-paid workers have benefited from the Conservative Government’s increase to the National Living Wage and National Minimum Wage. The National Living Wage has risen by 2.2 per cent to £8.91 this year, and has been expanded to cover 23 and 24-year-olds for the first time. 90,000 workers across the North East will receive a pay rise through the increase to the National Living Wage, with 13,000 people also benefiting from the increase to the National Minimum Wage.
